Site Meeting Re: Safe Rotes to School Jameston A4139 With reference to the meeting on the Monday the 6th of January 2003, at Bier Cross. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Manorbier Community councillors, David Morgan, and Malcolm Calver for there attendance at the above meeting, they obviously thought it important enough to attend the meeting in person. However I am extremely annoyed and dismayed that neither the chairwomen or the vice chairwoman along with other community councillors could not be bothered to attend such an important meeting, in order to show there support for the safety of the school children of Jameston. Most notably by there absence, was our County Councillor, PCC cabinet member, and head of the school governors, Mrs. Pat Griffiths, who could had she attended, offered considerable support to the campaign to see the provision of a safe routes to school, and the provision of a speed limit. This just confirms my opinion that councillor Griffiths is not at all committed to the safety of the school children of Jameston. Also sadly lacking was the non-attendance of the school governors, I do not know who they are, other then the head of the school governors, councillor Griffiths, but if that's the measure of support they give to their school on such a vital issue then I would suggest they should all resign forthwith, now I can understand why the headmistress said at the meeting nothing has happened in the last twelve years on this safety issue. I would also request that a strongly worded letter be sent to Dyfed-Powys Police, for there disgraceful non-appearance at this meeting, or were they along with our county councillor, and community councillors, and school governors, tucked up in the warm, holding there own alternative meeting? Yours Sincerely, Mr. A.L. Wales. |
