IN ATTENDANCE:         Mrs D M Watkins       Minute Clerk

The Mayor welcomed members to the Meeting and reported that all Community Council within a six mile radius had been contacted to attend the meeting.

Councillor Folland had hoped that a number of Community Councils would be represented. The action plan would take place over a period of six years and the elections would be held in the next 18 months. So whoever was appointed might not see their term out on the Steering Committee.

Mr Thorne pointed out three representatives were required per group community, trade and public sectors. This Meeting was to appoint community representatives, however only three communities were represented at the Meeting he suggested that one nominee from Tenby one from Saundersfoot and one nominee from the rural areas be put forward.

Councillor Codd stated, that he had been put forward by East Williamston Community Council, at their monthly Meeting two weeks ago however Anne Robinson was currently on sick leave and this may not have been passed on. Members felt that possible the other Community Councils had already appointed their own representatives.

Councillor Scourfield from Jeffreyston Community Council felt it important the other Councils should be involved in this progress even though they were not tounsm areas as the spin offs could be good for their areas in the future and was disappointed that more Community Council representatives had not attended.

Councillor Mrs Brown Stated that Erica Fielding had been asked for an extension of time to nominate representatives but this had been denied and a response was required by this Friday. Only 14 days notice had been given from the receipt of the initial letter.

Councillor Codd reported that this Council had received two letters with different dates of the Meeting from Tenby Town Council perhaps this had confused other Councils.

It was recommended that two representative be appointed leaving the Saundersfoot nomination open.

Councillor Scourfield proposed Councillor Codd to represent the rural areas, seconded Councillor Folland.

Councillor Codd accepted the nomination. A named alternative was required also.

Councillor Mrs Thomas proposed Mr M Thome to represent the Tenby Community, seconded Councillor Mrs K Durham.

Mr Thome accepted the nomination, further recommended that Councillor Mrs Durham be nominated as an alternative representative for Tenby Community.

Recommended that a copy of the minutes be forwarded to the Community Councils for information.

Clarification was required on who would chair the Steering Committee.

Recommended that information be sought from Erica Fielding.
