Mrs P Davis
Clerk to Manorbier Community Council
5 Windy Ridge
Manorbier
Tenby
3rd. June 2003
Dear Mrs. Davies
Letter to Manorbier Community Council 6 May 2003
Further to my letter that was received and read at the last community
council meeting on the 6th of May 2003.
Firstly I would like to make a comment concerning the comments of
councillor Griffiths made at the May meeting when she stated I had not
wrote the letter of the 6th May. I can assure Councillor Griffiths that I was
indeed the author of the letter that I handed in before the start of the May
meeting.
I have to say quite how councillor Griffiths has the temerity to accuse me
of not writing letters signed by me is the height of hypocrisy and beyond
belief councillor Griffithis and her cabinet colleagues are well known for
not writing their own letters, they are afforded the luxury by the council
tax payers of Pembrokeshire of having their own council spin doctors
who write all of their letters, and the likes of councillor Griffiths are
instructed to merely sign at the bottom of these letters.
This daily procedure is carried out at that hugely democratic building
referred to as the Kremlin or for those less enlightened community
councillors. County Hall.
However the community council will recall that farther to the director of
education Mr. G.W. Davies letter to the Manorbier community council
dated the 12th of February 2003, Mr Davies suggested that I should
appraise (apprise) myself, of the community councils respective
responsibilities in relation to the safe routes to school scheme for
Manorbier school.
You will farther recall that that councillor Pat Griffiths proposed that the
director of education be asked to write to Mr. Wales and apprise him of
the respective responsibilities of Manorbier community council in
relation to the above issue. However as to date I have received no letter of
explanation from Mr. G. W. Davies concerning this matter.
Therefore due to the failure on the part of our director of education in not
responding to the community councils request, I feel I have no alternative
but to again request that Manorbier community council apprise me in
writing as to precisely what is the respective responsibilities of
Manorbier community council is, in relation to the safe routes to school
as quoted in the letter by Mr. G.W. Davies on the 12th February 2003.
Yours Sincerely,
A.L. Wales
