Non Acceptance of Office to Manorbier Community Council

Since posting the resignation letters on this website it has been reported in the local press that Mr Wales, Neads, Coleman and Lloyd have resigned from the Manorbier Community Council. The facts are that the four former councillors were disqualified from becoming councillors again because they would not sign the Acceptance of Office forms.

The website has been contacted by Councillor Hine acting as the Proper Officer requesting the removal of documentation supplied to Councillor Calver. The letters were supplied to the Manorbier Community Council and are therefore open to inspection by all members of the community.

All the information on the website has now been published in the local press, the letters were also read out at a council meeting and are therefore in the public domain and open to full inspection by members of the community.

Now the Temporary Proper Officer has considered publishing the letters as being a selfish and thoughtless act and that it has compromised his position.

Why is it that some councillors want to suppress this information?

What authority has he, the Proper Officer, to make contact outside of the Manorbier Community Council's authorisation?
