One Wonders What Happens Behind Closed Doors
The website article regarding the Appointment of Temporary Clerk seems to have generated a
concern for fair play and openness amongst readers of the website.
Several readers have been in contact regarding perhaps a declaration by the three applicants as to if they have had any contact with all three illustrious members of the Council's Staffing Committee on a
group or individually basis.
Cllr Wales declared at the Community Council meeting on the
6th December 2007 that he had NOT been in contact with any of the applicants so it
therefore follows that he has not met any of the applicants in an official or unofficial
capacity.
Cllr Neads has declared that he HAD bumped into one of the applicants, we do not
know at present if this was in the street, in a house or in the village or perhaps in one of
the surrounding towns or indeed if there was anybody else including a councillor or councillors
with him when he "accidentally" bumped into her/him.
Cllr Coleman has kept very quiet on
the issue and has not stated one way or the other as far as this website is aware of meeting
any of the applicants.
Preliminary investigations by this website have resulted in some interesting suggestions
as to locations of possible meeting places which could include the secretive location of
past unannounced meeting places of the illustrious staffing committee that is so secret that
fellow members of Manorbier Community Council have not been informed. Even modes
of transport such as 4 X 4 have been suggested but discounted because any meeting
would surely have to be carried out in the utmost secrecy, probably behind security barriers
and gates and not in the clear open countryside.
Sightings of meetings of a suspicious nature with guards surrounding any isolated group
should be observed with caution.
Applicants for the post should keep a watch on this website for any developments and consider their positions because surely they would not wish to have an unfair
advantage over their fellow applicants.
