Community Council Meeting at Lydstep ( Celtic Haven )Wednesday 4th December at 9.30am

Site Meeting Celtic Haven Planning Application Mr Griffiths apologised for not attending the previous planning meeting. This was due to the fact that he had mistakenly believed that the meeting was arranged for earlier in the day and when he arrived at this time no-one was in attendance so he went on to his next scheduled meeting.

Council members attending the site meeting included Councillors Calver, Morgan and Thompson and also members of the public were in attendance. A question was raised regarding the site of the meeting place as both members of the public attending and councillors felt that they could not see the proposed development fully. Mr Griffiths informed the meeting that the applicant Mr Evans had refused the Community Council entry on to the area of the proposed development. When questioned by Councillor Calver that it was impossible to see the proposals properly Mr Griffiths suggested that it could be viewed from Lydstep Beach to which Councillor Calver replied hardly an ideal location as it was even further away than from the development than the current meeting location. Local residents reminded Mr Griffiths that entrance to the conference centre was not via the boat road. The main concern of Councillor Calver and the members of the public was the safety aspect as the access would be on a ninety degree bend when turning into the complex on the turning nearest Tenby if travelling from Jameston. He also stated that the boat road entrance was far from ideal as he had found it extremely difficult to see approaching traffic when entering and leaving. Mr Griffiths assured Councillor Calver that there would be no additional traffic as the planning permission would only allow for use of the facilities by residents of the complex and would not be open to members of the public. Concern was raised again on this issue as an advert had appeared in the local press the week before advertising the facilities as being open to members of the public. Mr Griffiths stated that this would not be allowed and if this did happen the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority would take immediate action.

The meeting concluded with the matter to be referred to the next meeting of the Community Council.
