Lets Keep it Quiet
Yet another secret session by the Manorbier Community Council for Mr Wales was held at 4 p.m. on Monday 17th July 2006.
The Agenda included Personnel and Staffing Matter and a Mr. Newman, from ACAS, attended. He was reported to have said that he would not talk with members of the public present, so it was no surprise that the Chairman, Mr Wales, requested a proposal to exclude the public.
Councillor Calver asked if the ACAS representative was to only give broad general advice there was no need to exclude the public at all. That proposal fell and the public were excluded once again as Cllrs Griffiths, Pellowe, Coleman and Neads supported the chairman's proposal. Cllr Kidney was not clear on the issue and Cllr Davies abstained.
It would seem that the charge payers must, like mushrooms, be kept in the dark and fed appropriate fertiliser. So will this new development be another high expenditure item requiring local financial support from the charge payers?
Just why are the community charge payers being kept unaware and away?
